It's Time for the IX Annual Hillsborough Rotary Fair

HILLSBOROUGH, NJ - Laboring under a blazing sun, oppressive humidity and intense heat, work crews are busy assembling rides, running power lines and unloading equipment in preparation for the Ninth Annual Hillsborough Rotary Fair, scheduled for six nights beginning Tuesday, Aug. 16th through Sunday, Aug. 21st.

The fair will will feature a 20-minute fireworks show on Friday night, Aug. 19th.

Temperatures next week are expected to be in the mid-80s.

The Fair will be held at the township field adjacent to the Lowes Hillsborough Promenade, 315 Route 206.

The six-day carnival attracts approximately 15,000 people each year, and is one of the Township’s largest and most popular annual community events. Fair proceeds go directly to support a variety of Hillsborough community organizations and projects.  

The Rotary Fair will feature 21 amusement rides by Majestic Midway Amusements, games by Paladin Amusements, a DJ, a wide selection of food, various displays by area vendors and a petting zoo.

Featured rides include the Himalayan, Bumper Cars, Ring of Fire, Super Shot, Sizzler, Zipper, Carousel, Kite Flyer and many more.

Admission is free. This year, Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday will be pay-one-price wristband nights for rides.  The Fair will also include nightly entertainment and special demonstrations.

The Hillsborough Rotary Club has over 40 active members from Hillsborough and surrounding communities.   Members include business and professional leaders who provide humanitarian service, encourage high ethical standards in all vocations, and help build goodwill and peace in the world.

The Hillsborough Rotary serves the Hillsborough community.  All funds raised at the Rotary Fair and other Rotary events throughout the year are donated back to community projects. The Hillsborough Rotary Club meets every Wednesday at 6 p.m. at Pheasants Landing Restaurant at 311 Amwell Road in Hillsborough.

Raritan Police: Warren Man Arrested for DWI and More in Police Blotter

RARITAN, NJ - A Warren man was arrested Feb. 1 for driving while intoxicated following a motor vehicle violation, according to a report from Raritan Borough Police.

Wayne Krause, 68, was charged with driving while intoxicated, reckless driving and speeding after being pulled over on Route 22 West.

Krause was processed and released pending a court appearance.

County Holding 5th Annual 5K Race to Wellness

BRIDGEWATER, NJ - The Somerset County Employee Wellness Committee is partnering with EmPoWER Somerset for the 5th Annual 5K Race to Wellness and 1-mile Fun Walk for county residents March 24.
