JCC Maccabi Games Team Takes Home Top Medals

BRIDGEWATER, NJ - A total of nine athletes representing the Shimon and Sara Birnbaum Jewish Community Center at the 2014 Maccabi Games won 40 medals - 13 gold, 14 silver and 13 bronze.

According to a release from the center, the JCC Maccabi Games feature Olympic-style competition for Jewish teenagers, ages 13 to 16. There were more than 1,200 athletes competing from around the United States, Great Britain, Mexico and Israel, and the games were hosted by the Katz JCC in Cherry Hill from Aug. 10 through Aug. 14.

Raritan Police: Warren Man Arrested for DWI and More in Police Blotter

RARITAN, NJ - A Warren man was arrested Feb. 1 for driving while intoxicated following a motor vehicle violation, according to a report from Raritan Borough Police.

Wayne Krause, 68, was charged with driving while intoxicated, reckless driving and speeding after being pulled over on Route 22 West.

Krause was processed and released pending a court appearance.
