Local Girl to Compete in American Miss Pageant

BRIDGEWATER, NJ - Bridgewater resident Mya Romero has been accepted as a finalist in the National American Miss Pageant 2015.

The pageant will be held Aug. 14 and Aug. 15 at the Hyatt Regency in New Brunswick, and her division is for girls ages 7 through 9.

The girl crowned Miss Jr. Pre-Teen New Jersey will receive a $1,000 cash award, the official crown and banner, a bouquet of roses and air transportation to compete in the national pageant at Disneyland in California.

The pageant is for girls ages 4 to 18, in five different age groups, and they will compete in the categories of Formal Wear Modeling, Personal Introduction, Interview and Community Service Project.

Outside of the pageant, Romero enjoys dance, gymnastics, playing with friends and spending time with her family. She loves going to the beach and going to the movies.

Romero’s sponsors for the pageant include Edgar’s Landscaping and Construction LLC, Lee Slotkin DDS, Louann Agosta, Lorraine Mundrane-Dobbins, Eight Legs Plus LLC, Wonder Year Academy and Premiere Dance.

Raritan Police: Warren Man Arrested for DWI and More in Police Blotter

RARITAN, NJ - A Warren man was arrested Feb. 1 for driving while intoxicated following a motor vehicle violation, according to a report from Raritan Borough Police.

Wayne Krause, 68, was charged with driving while intoxicated, reckless driving and speeding after being pulled over on Route 22 West.

Krause was processed and released pending a court appearance.
