BRIDGEWATER, NJ - Four fourth and fifth graders from the area, including two from Bridgewater, celebrated George Washington's 283rd birthday with the Founding Father himself at the Old Barracks Museum in Trenton.

The students were winners of an essay contest that asked fourth and fifth graders what George Washington would be most proud of if he could see America in 2015. Five winners were selected from more than 230 entries, and invited to read their essays to George Washington and share his birthday cake with him. After the birthday party, the children and their families took a tour of the museum.

The winners were Aarsha Shah, of Bridgewater; Jack Smithouser, of Jackson; Ayank Maiti, of Bridgewater; and Paige Thier, of Chesterfield. Not pictured in the above photo is Samantha Gunton.
