New Jersey Magician Conrad Cologne is used to making things disappear, but now, families can watch him appear LIVE on their computers. He usually presents his shows for theaters, fairs, festivals, and private events, however, families can now watch his weekly interactive family magic show from their homes. Cologne is on a digital tour and is presenting his show “Conrad Cologne: LIVE from Home” through his Facebook page, TheMagicOfConrad, each Sunday at 2 pm EST.
Cologne is a rising star in the magic world. Having performed over 1000 shows for family audiences it is easy to understand why Expert TV calls him “New Jerseys Favorite Family Entertainer”. Cologne debuted his show series on March 15th and plans to continue the shows every week for the foreseeable future. Shows are typically 20-30 minutes long and are designed to be interactive experiences, with magic happening in the viewer's hands as they watch the show.
“I love performing for families and if I can make them laugh, smile and have fun together during this trying time, I’d be happy,” Conrad said as he prepped for his upcoming show. “The show is designed to be interactive. Unlike a video or movie, I encourage everyone watching to get involved. Using just a few household objects viewers get to experience magic not only on their screens but in their hands. They get to do the magic!”
Cologne and his interactive shows have amassed over 1,500 views since their debut and Conrad has no thoughts of slowing down.
“I’d like to keep this going,” Cologne said. “Now more than ever we need to bring back joy and laughter into our lives. All types of entertainment allow us to escape reality and a lot of people need that right now. I hope these shows allow people the opportunity to spend quality time with their families and have fun.”
Cologne is not entirely entering foreign territory. Working as a professional family entertainer has him performing in a wide variety of venues. From small theaters to county fairs Conrad can be found making families all over New Jersey laugh and smile. He’s still expanding his skills as a live performer, no matter the format.
“I still consider myself a beginner, a student of magic, since there is always more to learn,” the 26-year-old Cologne said. “Magicians have done live TV shows in the past, but they just had to fool everybody once — this is something that lives on the internet forever.”
Cologne designs each show with a different line up as many families tune in every week. “Some families say it’s the highlight of their week,” Cologne said, “We’re all going through this together, and trying to make sense of this. This is my small part.”
