BRIDGEWATER, NJ - Each week, two students at Bridgewater-Raritan High School will be honored as students of the week.
Students are chosen by teachers and staff in the high school.
The students of the week for the week of Jan. 23 are:
- Alexa Miller - (nominated by Chris Black and Scott Linzer) Alexa displays leadership and compassion. Alexa was the first student to make a donation to the media department's collection for the Cheer-Gram program. The Cheer-Gram program, organized by Ms. Guirlando and Ms. Zylberman, serves families in the Bridgewater-Raritan School District that are having a tough time around the holidays. Alexa's donation led others to do the same. Thanks to Alexa, and BR's media students, the department was able to make a $200 donation to a worthwhile cause.
- Maikol Vargas - (nominated by Averye Dandeo) While I was on duty in the hallway, I saw Maikol go out of his way to hold open the doors for a disabled student. Maikol changed the direction that he was heading specifically to do so. It was refreshing to witness this small act of kindness.
Editors Note - Every week we will publish the BRHS Students of the Week. Congratulations to all those students recognized.
