LANCASTER, PA. - A three-run rally in the bottom of the ninth inning lifted the Lancaster Barnstormers (37-32) to a 7-6 win over the Somerset Patriots (42-28) Sunday afternoon at Clipper Magazine Stadium.

Kyle Roller opened up the scoring in the top of the first inning with a two-run double to left-center field. Roller (8) added a solo home run to right field in the third inning to increase Somerset’s lead to 3-0.

The Barnstormers responded with a two-out rally in the bottom of the third, plating two runs on a wild pitch and a Caleb Gindl RBI single. Lancaster later evened the game at 3-3 in the sixth on a Garrett Weber (9) lead-off home run.

Somerset quickly regained the lead in the top of the seventh on a two-out, three-RBI double from Olmo Rosario. Trayvon Robinson brought the ‘Stormers back within a run the next half inning on a RBI double, before a ninth inning rally would win it.

Caleb Gindl (6) led off the inning with a solo home run to right field before Weber (10) won the game two batters later on a fly ball two-run home run into the first row of seating beyond the right field porch, just barely staying fair.

“Definitely was a tough loss today as I thought we were in a good position to finish it off,” said Patriots manager Brett Jodie. “Same mentality begins for us tomorrow with the start of the second half: we are going to get back to work and get back to winning ballgames.”

Anthony Carter (2-2) earned the win with a scoreless ninth inning. Ronnie Shaban (2-2) took the loss after he allowed three runs without recording an out. Neither starting pitcher factored into the decision.

The Patriots continue their six-game road trip Monday night when they travel to New Britain, Connecticut to take on the New Britain Bees. First pitch at New Britain Stadium is scheduled for 6:35 p.m.

Tickets to the 2017 Somerset Patriots season, which includes the team’s 20th anniversary, are on sale now. TD Bank Ballpark will be the host of the 2017 Atlantic League All-Star Game July 12. For more information, stop by the ballpark, call 908-252-0700, or visit www.somersetpatriots.com.
