BRIDGEWATER, NJ - A resident of Finderne Avenue was taken into custody after making threats against officers and others at about 2 p.m. Wednesday, said police.

Bridgewater Township Police said the man made threats while at the Robert Wood Johnson Hospital in Somerset, then left the hospital and returned to his home.

Members from the Bridgewater and Somerville police departments responded to the residence to make contact with the man, but the subject did not maintain communications with the officers at the scene, police said. They said this, and the nature of threats made, spurred activation of the Somerset County Prosecutor's Office Somerset County Emergency Response Team (SCERT).

When the SCERT arrived the man exited his home and was taken into custody without incident, police said. They said there were no charges pending at the time they released information about the incident.
