BRIDGEWATER, NJ - As of 11:30 a.m. Friday, the Somerset County Prosecutor's Office was still reviewing surveillance footage regarding the fight that broke out at the Bridgewater Commons Mall Thursday evening.
According to Det. Jeanne Trillhaase, with the Somerset County Prosecutor's Office, they cannot confirm that shots were fired in the mall, as they are still investigating unconfirmed reports given to police that shots were fired during the incident.
According to Somerset County Prosecutor Michael H. Robertson, Bridgewater Township Police responded at 6:27 p.m. Thursday to a fight in progress at the food court in the Bridgewater Commons Mall.
Bridgewater mall security separated the individuals involved in the fight, Robertson said, and it continued onto the exterior parking lot area of the area. A call of shots fired was reported to police, but that has still not been confirmed.
The mall reopened for regular business hours Friday morning.
