WARREN, NJ - Two victims are dead after a shooting at a Mount Horeb residence in Warren Sunday afternoon, according to Somerset County Prosecutor Geoffrey Soriano.
The alleged assailant barricaded himself in the home, triggering a day-long standoff between police and the gunman.
According to a release, subsequent to shooting a male and female this afternoon, the suspect died of an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound.
Both the male and female victims are also deceased, Soriano said.
This is an active and ongoing investigation. No additional information is available at this time, and the identity of the shooter and victims has not been released.
Warren Township Police have advised that the area that was previously barricaded has been secured. Mount Bethel Road will re-open. Mount Horeb Road between Mount Bethel and King George roads will remain closed.
Round Top Swim Club has re-opened. Some Warren businesses in the town center have also closed. Call before venturing out.
