RARITAN, NJ - A Raritan man was arrested June 20 for a report of lewdness after he was seen standing naked in his open front doorway, according to a report from Raritan Borough Police.

William Schrader, 65, of First Avenue, was charged with lewdness in the incident.

According to the report, on June 20 at 11:18 a.m., officers were called to First Avenue in the area of Prospect Street for the lewdness report. People were attending a softball tournament at the old Washington School property, and they reported seeing a man standing naked in the open front door of his residence on First Avenue.

According to the report, he was also seen standing naked in his doorway earlier in the morning, at about 9:30 a.m.

After an investigation, officers responded to the home on First Avenue, where Schrader was placed under arrest.

Schrader was released pending an appearance in Raritan Borough Municipal Court.
