RARITAN, NJ - A First Avenue man was indicted on murder charges in connection with the death of a Raritan woman and her daughter in December 2015, according to Acting Somerset County Prosecutor Michael H. Robertson.

Ramon Cadiz, 52, was indicted on two counts of first-degree murder, two counts of third-degree possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, two counts of first-degree aggravated sexual assault and one count of second-degree sexual assault.

Robertson said that on Dec. 11, 2015, Raritan Borough Police responded to First Avenue at about 3:15 p.m. for concerns about the welfare of the occupants of a house. Officers entered the house and found the body of Kim Streath, 15, in the second-floor master bedroom.

Detectives from the Raritan Borough Police Department, in conjunction with detectives from the Somerset County Prosecutor's Office Major Crimes Unit and the Somerset County Prosecutor's Office Crime Scene Investigations and Forensics Unit responded to the investigation.

Robertson said they found the body of Sandrar Guiseppe, 51, Streath's mother, on the first floor of the house.

Cadiz was named as a suspect, Robertson said, and a statewide police broadcast was issued for him and his vehicle.

Just before midnight, Robertson said, North Brunswick Police found Cadiz's vehicle parked in a secluded area on Petunia Drive in the Colony Oaks Apartment Complex. At about 4 a.m., according to Robertson, Somerset County detectives approached the vehicle and found Cadiz sleeping in the front driver's seat.

Cadiz was placed under arrest without incident.

Cadiz is currently lodged in the Somerset County Jail, with bail having been set at $2 million.
