RARITAN, NJ - The Raritan Borough Council has opted not to continue with a partnership with the Tour of Somerville for a bicycle race through Raritan this year.

The Tour of Somerville is held on Memorial Day weekend, and, in 2017, the committee held a race in Raritan too. Hosting the race down Somerset Street cost the borough a flat fee of $10,000.

But after a low turnout in 2017, the council has opted not to host the bicycle race again in 2018.

"There wasn't a good turnout, so we passed for this year," said Linda Schulte, of the Raritan events committee.
