Raritan Riverfest Coming This Month, Tickets and Sponsorships Still Available

RARITAN, NJ - The Raritan Riverfest and Rubber Duck Race is returning this month, and race tickets have now been reduced to $1 per duck.

The Basilone Memorial Foundation, in conjunction with the Raritan Borough Economic Development Committee and with special thanks to its founding sponsor Uncle Vinnie’s Clam Bar, has announced that sales are underway for the event Sept. 25 from noon to 5 p.m. The event will be held at Raritan’s Canal Street Park, across from the John Basilone Statue.

Tickets for the duck race will be sold at various locations prior to the event, and right up to race time itself.

There are prizes for the rubber duck race, with first prize being $2,000 donated by Van Cleef Engineering Associates, second prize being a 40-inch flat panel LCD tv donated by Jersey Mortgage and third prize being a state-of-the-art GPS donated by the Basilone Memorial Foundation.

Anyone interested in being a sponsor or exhibitor should call Don Tozzi at 908-864-6818. Costs are $125 for food or beverage vendors and $100 for non-food or non-beverage exhibitors.

Food and beverage vendors must have a pre-paid health department permit.

The event itself will include musical talent arranged by Raritan Music Center; local restaurant and retail exhibitors; the Camp Bow Wow of Bridgewater Doggie Fashion Show and canine grooming demonstrated by Bobbie’s Canine Couture; yoga on the Nevius Street Bridge sponsored by Traveling Yoga Road; and Gymboree activities for kids.

The Raritan Rubber Duck Race will again benefit the Steeplechase Cancer Center at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital/Somerset and the Raritan Volunteer Fire Department.
