Dear Editor:

It is time for a change in Bridgewater and Somerset County.

Our township and county governments, which have been under the control of one party for many years, have become unresponsive to the needs of the public. Public services, road conditions, concern for the environment and law enforcement are all areas in need of improvement.

That is why, on Nov. 5, I am voting column 1, right down the line. The election of Melonie Marano to the board of freeholders will allow the Democratic party to have the majority of the board for the first time in many years, so that real changes can finally be implemented. I am also supporting Darrin Russo for sheriff as he will bring reforms to this important law enforcement position.

I will also vote for the Change4Bridgewater team, Jeffrey Brookner for mayor and Patti Selikoff and John Arcoleo for township council. They will bring needed improvements to the government of Bridgewater and look out for the needs of all residents, not special interests.

Finally, it is time for our township to be represented in the State Assembly by a team with fresh ideas and concern for their entire district, instead of the faraway politicians from Warren and Hunterdon counties who represent us now. That is why I support Marisa Trofimov and Denise King for State Assembly from District 23.

I hope you will join me in supporting the column 1 team on Election Day, Nov. 5.
