NESHANIC STATION, NJ - Every November and December, Rolling Thunder, Inc. National, based in Neshanic Station, gives veterans at the Lyons VA Hospital in Liberty Corner holiday luncheons and dinner.
Thanksgiving and Christmas luncheons are enjoyed by outpatient veterans who participate in the hospital’s CORE program.
The Post Traumatic Stress Disorder ward dinner for men and women veterans is held each year, and, while veterans enjoy turkey, ham, pasta and vegetables, people get to sit on Santa’s lap for a picture and gift.
Rolling Thunder members provide lots of homemade and store-bought cakes, pies and cookies.
The main mission of Rolling Thunder is to publicize the issue of prisoners of war and those missing in action. It works to help prevent future veterans from being left behind if they become prisoners of war or missing in action.
