RWJUH Blood Donors Get Free Ticket to July 30th Somerset Patriots Game

BRIDGEWATER, NJ - Blood donors are urgently needed to combat summer shortages, and Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital Somerset, a member of RWJ Barnabas Health, is working with the Somerset Patriots to entice baseball fans to help.

All donors who give blood on Saturday, July 30, from noon to 5 p.m. at the Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital Somerset Sports Physical Therapy and Performance Center at the ballpark will receive a voucher for a Somerset Patriots game ticket.

“We’re asking our neighbors in the community to roll up their sleeves and save our summer,” said Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital Somerset Blood Services supervisor Christia Keyte. “Patients rely on blood for life-saving treatments and we’re facing a critical shortage.”

Donors must be at least 17 years old - 16 with parental consent; weigh at least 110 pounds and feel well at the time of donation. For questions about whether a health condition or medication would affect eligibility, call (908) 685-2926.

Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital Somerset Performance Fitness coaches will be available during the blood drive to provide demo movement screens and performance fitness advice. There will be a chance for two winners to receive a free month of performance fitness access. up to a $599 value.

BRIDGEWATER, NJ - A Somerville woman was arrested for allegedly shoplifting more than $400 worth of merchandise from Macy's at the Bridgewater Commons Mall July 7, according to a report from Bridgewater Township Police.
