Sanofi to Sponsor American Diabetes Association Walk

BRIDGEWATER, NJ - The American Diabetes Association has announced that Sanofi US signed on to be the presenting sponsor of the American Diabetes Association’s Bridgewater Step Out: Walk to Stop Diabetes, Oct. 11 at TD Bank Ballpark in Bridgewater.

“The American Diabetes Association is grateful to Sanofi US for their commitment to Stop Diabetes by supporting the Step Out: Walk to Stop Diabetes,” said Denise Andersen, executive director of the Northern New Jersey Market of the Association, in a release. “Events like Step Out not only raise funds to help change the future of diabetes, they also bring public attention to the risk factors associated with the disease.”

According to the release, Sanofi US is also sponsoring Red Striders, walk participants who have type 1 or type 2 diabetes, at several walk events.

Step Out: Walk to Stop Diabetes is the signature one-day fundraising walk to benefit the American Diabetes Association. Every dollar raised goes toward preventing and curing diabetes, as well as improving the lives of people affected.

Today, the release said, there are more than 29 million Americans with diabetes.

Walking is one of the best forms of exercise for people with diabetes, and the event helps people come together for a fun and healthy activity.

The walk in Bridgewater will include a route that concludes on the warning track of the ballpark, with vendors, activities for kids, music and lunch for all participants.

Somerville Woman Arrested for Shoplifting from Macy's, According to Bridgewater Police Report

BRIDGEWATER, NJ - A Somerville woman was arrested for allegedly shoplifting more than $400 worth of merchandise from Macy's at the Bridgewater Commons Mall July 7, according to a report from Bridgewater Township Police.

Sara Morales-Silva, 51, was charged with shoplifting after she was found with about $435.04 worth of merchandise from the store.
