SOMERSET, NJ – The Somerset County Business Partnership had its 2016 annual Meeting & Celebration of Success Monday at the Palace at Somerset Park.
It was the year’s largest gathering of the Somerset County business community, which opened with a networking reception, followed by a luncheon.
“It was a great event with a lot of positive energy in the room,” President/CEO of the Business Partnership Mike Kerwin said. “Our message that Somerset County is a place of vibrant connections and endless opportunities was embraced by everyone who attended.”
The annual meeting provided Somerset County business people with an effective networking opportunity with over 500 guests, both from the public and private sector.
During the luncheon, many presentations highlighting the economic and sustainability goals and objectives set for Somerset County businesses for 2017 were given. Safe+Sound Somerset (formerly the Resource Center of Somerset) of Hillsborough and JM Sorge Environmental Consulting of Somerville were the 2016 Economic Vitality recipients.
“Somerset County has once again solidified its position as the prime location for companies looking to access a talented workforce, a central location, and an outstanding quality of life,” Kerwin said.
Regional and local business owners, non-profit representatives and elected leaders - including Congressmen Leonard Lance, Senator Kip Bateman, Freeholder Director Pat Walsh, and Assemblyman Jack Ciattarelli - were among the attendees.
“The success of this event allows us to start 2017 with a sense of momentum,” Kerwin said.
The annual meeting is viewed as a great opportunity for the business community to gather and recognize the companies that have added to Somerset County’s economic vitality and communicate top strategic objectives for the upcoming year.
