Somerset County Freeholder Brian D. Levine Invites the Public to Panel Discussion for Youth

SOMERVILLE, NJ - Somerset County Freeholder Brian D. Levine is inviting parents of middle school and high school students to a panel discussion focusing on the impact of marijuana on the developing teenage brain, negative consequences and the science behind it. 

"Giving parents the information that they need for the benefit of their children is a high priority in Somerset County," Levine said via email. "We offer these programs to continue to give to our residents the support they need for their families and their communities."

The panel discussion is titled “The Blunt Truth: The Effects of Marijuana on the Teen Brain,” and will be held at Somerville Middle School and is hosted by the county Office of Youth Services.

Somerset County Prosecutor Michael H. Robertson, Professional Addiction Counselor Paul Lavella Jr., Somerville High School Psychologist Danielle Zurawiecki and Rutgers Center of Alcohol Studies Program Coordinator Ricki Arvesen will also participate on the panel. 

The topics discussed will range from the effects of marijuana on the teenage brain to consequences and recovery.
