BRIDGEWATER, NJ - The Somerset County Library System held its annual Summer Carnival Aug. 17 at the Bridgewater Township Library to celebrate the end of the summer reading program.

Teen volunteers ran the games, made balloon animals, made crafts and much more.

According to Meredith Hoyer, head of youth services at the library, the festival is the end-of-summer celebration for the Summer Reading Challenge to help kids get ready to go back to school, while also keeping them reading all summer.

“We have over 200 teen volunteers that help us with the program throughout the summer, and we wouldn’t be able to do it without them,” she said.
