BRIDGEWATER, NJ – The Somerset County Vocational & Technical High School (SCVTHS) Gifted and Talented Honors Theater Arts Program is proud to present Thornton Wilder’s groundbreaking American classic and Pulitzer Prize-winning satire "The Skin of Our Teeth."
SCVTHS Gifted and Talented Theater Arts Program Coordinator Joseph Mancuso explained, “We chose this inspiring and spectacular play because it is a joyous celebration of humanity's resilience. Even though this play was first produced 75 years ago, it remains shockingly contemporary and more pertinent than ever before.”
"The Skin of Our Teeth" is a story that follows George Antrobus, the inventor of the wheel, along with his family and maid as they face ongoing disasters including climate change, war, flood, famine, and economic collapse. The story has everything from “wooly mammoths to an Atlantic City beauty contest to the aftermath of global war, extinction and survival race to the finish line.”
"The Skin of Our Teeth" will be presented in the Auditorium of Somerset County Vocational & Technical High School located at 14 Vogt Drive in Bridgewater. Show times are scheduled for Nov. 17 and 18 at 7:30 p.m. General admission to the show is $15, seniors and non-SCVTHS students are $5, and SCVTHS students and staff are free.
Tickets will be available at the door, or by reserving them through the box office at 908-526-8900, ext. 7125.
