Somerset Patriots to Host Ballpark Comic Con


BRIDGEWATER, NJ- The Somerset Patriots will host their Fifth Annual Ballpark Comic Con at TD Bank Ballpark June 24 presented by the Hugs For Brady Foundation and the organization's partner, The Palace at Somerset Park. The event will begin at 5:30 pm and last throughout the game.

Ballpark Comic Con offers fans and comic books lovers a unique experience combining family fun, baseball, and all things comics.

The first 1,500 Kids in attendance will receive Superhero/Patriotic Themed Socks.

Fans are encouraged to dress up as comic characters and participate in costume contests for great prizes.

In celebration of the hit movie Guardians of The Galaxy Volume 2, fans will be able to take pictures with Star- Lord, Groot, and Rocket from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm.

The Somerset Patriots will host a special silent auction featuring comic-related items, unique experiences, and much more with 100% of the proceeds benefiting the Hugs For Brady Foundation. Items available include New York Yankees tickets, Rutgers Football tickets, a Somerset County Golf package, exclusive comic artwork by Will Torres, a Somerville restaurant package, tickets to see Aladdin on Broadway, and much more.

Torres will be on site and draw exclusive sketch covers for fans in attendance.

Vendors include Wild Pig Comics, Bazooka Jeff's Batcave and Mirrors By Design.

Tickets for the event start at $11.00 and include Ballpark Comic Con admission and the Somerset Patriots game scheduled for 7:05 pm against the New Britain Bees.

More activities, vendors, and special guests are still being added for this event.

The Hugs for Brady Foundation is dedicated to helping children with childhood cancers. Their moral compass has directed them to support children with cancer in any and every way possible. Recently, Hugs for Brady passed the $1,000,0000 milestone in terms of dollars raised to help kids with cancer.

Tickets to the 2017 Somerset Patriots Season presented by Ford, which includes the team’s 20th Anniversary, are on sale now. TD Bank Ballpark will be the host of the 2017 Atlantic League All-Star Game presented by RWJBarnabas Health and Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield of New Jersey on Wednesday, July 12th. Dunellen Man Arrested for Simple Assault Following Fight, According to Raritan Police

RARITAN, NJ - A Dunellen man was arrested for simple assault after police were called to a fight in progress on East Somerset Street, according to a report from Raritan Borough Police.

Franklin Cardenas-Hernandez, 34, was charged with simple assault in the incident March 11.

According to police, officers were sent to a residence on East Somerset Street for a report of a fight in progress.
