One hundred seven students will graduate this year, earning more than $13.7 million in scholarship money:

A total of 90 percent of students were accepted to their first choice schools;

A total of 75 percent of students graduated with college scholarships, with over 55 percent receiving full or half tuition awards;

Finally, 80 percent of students receiving scholarships worth more than the cost of an Immaculata education.

Adam, who is headed to Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute to study architecture, has a long list of academic achievements, including being a pioneer member of the prestigious Marian Scholar Program at Immaculata, a National Honor Society and Spanish National Honor Society member since her sophomore year, the award winner as top student in Spanish, Theology, and English as an underclassman, and the FLENJ (Foreign Language Educators of New Jersey) Senior Award Recipient for Outstanding Achievement in World Language.  For two years she participated in the Mathworks Math Modeling Challenge. She has served in top leadership roles in the Student Council, National Honor Society, and Spanish Honor Society.

Fully embracing the school’s motto, Unitas Caritas, Adam has participated in dozens of the school’s outreach programs, helping the needy and disadvantaged in the local area. A Campus Ministry Board member and Leader for the school’s retreat program, Adam was recognized for her dedication by the Diocese of Metuchen with the St. Timothy and St. Teresa of Calcutta Awards.  In addition, she was the previous recipient of the school’s  Mother Teresa “Do Small Things with Great Love” Award for leading the entire school in its dedication to feeding Christ’s most poor and vulnerable people. An active parishioner of Immaculate Conception Church, Adam is a Somerset County YMCA Volunteer at the Bridgewater and Somerville branches for their Veteran’s Day Dinner, Healthy Kids Day, Swim Team tryout and registration days, Water Easter Egg Hunt, and Ice Cream Social for campers and families.

Rounding out her resume, Adam lettered in swimming all four years and served as team captain, while earning First and Second Team All Conference status in the Skyland Conference in 2015, 2016, and 2018.   She also was a member of the lacrosse team for two years.   Recently, Adam received the Somerset County Principal Association’s Scholar Athlete Award.

“Both young women have accomplished so much in their four years here,” said principal Jean Kline. “They represent all four pillars of this school: Faith, Scholarship, Service, and Friendship. What is exemplary about them and their whole class is that they commit to so many of our opportunities here.  They go beyond the classroom  and learn about teamwork and perseverance through sports.  And they have established a lifelong commitment to the needy through the school’s extraordinary Campus Ministry Outreach Program. Twenty five members of the Class of 2018 received this year’s prestigious President’s Volunteer Service Award. We are Spartan Proud of the Class of 2018 and wish them the best as they launch their college careers.”
