BRIDGEWATER, NJ - A Somerville woman was arrested for allegedly shoplifting more than $400 worth of merchandise from Macy's at the Bridgewater Commons Mall July 7, according to a report from Bridgewater Township Police.

Sara Morales-Silva, 51, was charged with shoplifting after she was found with about $435.04 worth of merchandise from the store.

She was processed and released pending a court appearance.

Police made other arrests for shoplifting and more at the beginning of July.

  • An employee of Target reported July 5 that there had been theft. According to the report, someone stole several bottles of baby formula and boxes of diapers, with a combined value of $428.28, from a display area.
  • Hector Roman, 57, of West New York, was arrested for driving while intoxicated July 7 after he was stopped on Route 22 East for a motor vehicle violation. He was issued motor vehicle summonses for driving while intoxicated, refusal to submit to chemical testing of his breath, reckless driving, failure to maintain a traffic lane and failure to exhibit an insurance card. He was processed and released pending a court appearance.
  • Edgardo Velez-Figueroa, 18, of Flemington, was arrested July 7 for allegedly shoplifting merchandise with an approximate value of $109.98 from Macy's in the Bridgewater Commons Mall. He was processed and released pending a court appearance.
  • Christine Sauers, 37, of Hillsborough, and Alaina Molesko, 37, of Flagtown, were arrested July 9 for shoplifting after being found with merchandise with a combined value of $166 from Target. They were processed and released pending a court appearance.
