Temple Sholom to Install New Rabbi


BRIDGEWATER, NJ - Temple Sholom, on North Bridge Street in Bridgewater, will celebrate the installation of Rabbi Dan Selsberg with a number of events and activities this weekend.

Rabbi Ron Isaacs retired from the synagogue in June.

The installation ceremony and celebration will be held following services Friday at 7:30 p.m., as well as a luncheon Saturday after services with scholar-in-residence Rabbi Elianna Yolkut, from Washington D.C.

On Sunday, there will be a visiting scholar program at 10 a.m., followed by a lunch and family program at 11:30 a.m.

The family celebration will include the biggest and craziest game of Simon Sez with Steve Max, the nation's leading Simon Sez caller. Max's interactive show is seen nationally at NBA, WNBA, football and ice hockey halftime shows, and he entertains at corporate sales meetings, schools, camps and more.

Selsberg was born and raised in Wisconsin, and is a gradute of the School of Education at the University of Wisconsin, Madison. He was ordained by the Ziegler School of Rabbinical Studies at the American Jewish University in Los Angeles, and, for the past nine years, was the rabbi of Beth Jacob Synagogue in Ontario.

Raritan Police: Warren Man Arrested for DWI and More in Police Blotter

RARITAN, NJ - A Warren man was arrested Feb. 1 for driving while intoxicated following a motor vehicle violation, according to a report from Raritan Borough Police.

Wayne Krause, 68, was charged with driving while intoxicated, reckless driving and speeding after being pulled over on Route 22 West.

Krause was processed and released pending a court appearance.
