Township Applying for Regional Partnership Grant

BRIDGEWATER, NJ - The Bridgewater Township Council is looking for a grant from the 2014 Regional Center Partnership Challenge Grant Program, with the hope of getting $15,000.

The program is designed to help the goals and objectives of the Regional Center Partnership, including downtown redevelopment, neighborhood revitalization, connecting the three sub-centers of the Regional Center and more.

The township is applying for the grant for designing and constructing ADA compliant handicap ramps at the intersection of Woodlawn Avenue and Rambler Drive.

At the Nov. 6 council meeting, the council also approved a resolution increasing the contract with Eric M. Bernstein & Associates as township labor attorney. The resolution increases the contract by $15,000, and awards a professional service contract for an amount not to exceed $75,000, for a total final annual contract amount not to exceed $90,000.

The contract is extended to Dec. 31.

Raritan Police: Warren Man Arrested for DWI and More in Police Blotter

RARITAN, NJ - A Warren man was arrested Feb. 1 for driving while intoxicated following a motor vehicle violation, according to a report from Raritan Borough Police.

Wayne Krause, 68, was charged with driving while intoxicated, reckless driving and speeding after being pulled over on Route 22 West.

Krause was processed and released pending a court appearance.
