BRIDGEWATER, NJ - Each week, two students at Bridgewater-Raritan High School will be honored as students of the week.
Students are chosen by teachers and staff in the high school.
The students of the week for the week of May 28 are:
- Rebekah Toye - (nominated by Aileen Zylberman) Rebekah noticed a girl crying in the hall, looking disoriented. Rebekah noticed people just walking by her without stopping to check on her. Rebekah approached her and asked if she could help. The student was from the Life Skills class and was unable to communicate with her, so Rebekah brought her down to my office so that I could assist her. I was very impressed with Rebekah's compassion in reaching out to a peer in distress, especially a student with communication difficulties.
- Trevor Meixsell - (nominated by Daphne Ruben) I have been fortunate to have Trevor as a student for two years. Trevor has consistently shown compassion both in and out of the classroom. On a recent field trip, Trevor helped to encourage fellow students to participate in an open mic session. This assisted the students with their self-esteem and confidence. His out-going and positive nature not only made a difference to these students, but he impacts everyone that he meets.
Editors Note - Every week we will publish the BRHS Students of the Week. Congratulations to all those students recognized.
