Twenty-One People Displaced Following Monday Morning Fire in Bridgewater

BRIDGEWATER, NJ - Residents of eight housing units have been displaced following a fire in a building on Sunny Slope Road Monday morning, according to a release from Bridgewater Township Police.

According to the release, officers from Bridgewater Township Police Department – as well as fire companies and emergency services from Bridgewater, Somerville, Manville and Bound Brook – responded to the 2100 building of Sunny Slope Road for a report of a fire.

The fire was extinguished, the release said, and about 21 people from eight units have been displaced.

In addition, the release said, one adult male suffered minor burns to his extremities, and he was treated at the scene and released.

The Red Cross is assisting with housing the displaced families.

The origin of the fire is currently unknown, and is being investigated by the Bridgewater Bureau of Fire Safety.

Raritan Police: Warren Man Arrested for DWI and More in Police Blotter

RARITAN, NJ - A Warren man was arrested Feb. 1 for driving while intoxicated following a motor vehicle violation, according to a report from Raritan Borough Police.

Wayne Krause, 68, was charged with driving while intoxicated, reckless driving and speeding after being pulled over on Route 22 West.

Krause was processed and released pending a court appearance.

County Holding 5th Annual 5K Race to Wellness

BRIDGEWATER, NJ - The Somerset County Employee Wellness Committee is partnering with EmPoWER Somerset for the 5th Annual 5K Race to Wellness and 1-mile Fun Walk for county residents March 24.
