RARITAN, NJ - Two Republican candidates are vying, unopposed, to run for two open seats on the borough council in November's elections.

The deadline to file to run in the June primary elections was Monday, and only two Republican candidates have filed to run for the two nominations from their party.

Current Republican incumbent Paul Giraldi is running again, alongside newcomer Nicolas Carra.

Both are running unopposed for the Republican nomination to run for two open borough council seats in November.

Current councilman Andrew Sibilia, whose term also ends this year, will not be seeking re-election.

No petitions have been filed to run for the Democratic nomination in Raritan.

Primary elections will be held June 7.
