Walker, Weinstock Take Bridgewater BOE Seats

BRIDGEWATER, NJ - Barry Walker and Lisa Weinstock won two seats on the Bridgewater-Raritan Regional Board of Education, representing Bridgewater, according to the unofficial election results released by Bridgewater Township.

Weinstock earned the most votes, with a total of 3,466, while Walker earned 3,300 votes.

Incumbent Evan Lerner came in third with 2,736, followed by Christopher Larson with 2,181 votes and Ali Ali with 893 votes.

A total of 10,090 votes were cast in Bridgewater in Tuesday's elections.

Bridgewater residents voted in favor of Republican incumbent Peter Palmer and Brian Levine for the Somerset County Board of Chosen Freeholders, with 6,470 and 6,132 votes, respectively.

Voters also voted in favor of both state ballot questions, as well as favoring Republican incumbent Leonard Lance for Congress, with 6,329 votes.

Raritan Police: Warren Man Arrested for DWI and More in Police Blotter

RARITAN, NJ - A Warren man was arrested Feb. 1 for driving while intoxicated following a motor vehicle violation, according to a report from Raritan Borough Police.

Wayne Krause, 68, was charged with driving while intoxicated, reckless driving and speeding after being pulled over on Route 22 West.

Krause was processed and released pending a court appearance.
