To the Editor:
Usually primary elections hold very little political drama but this year in our town I was very surprised to learn that the Board of Education's Barry Walker unsuccessfully ran a campaign against Mayor Daniel Hayes in an attempt to unseat him from his District 10 Municipal Committee Seat.
Now I know why many Independent voters like me stay out of politics. Why would a recently re-elected BOE member be trying to actively unseat our township's mayor for municipal committee? Yes, the same mayor who is a school teacher and his administration has treated the Board of Education quite well during his two terms.
I have always been a fan of Mr. Walker, but now I have to question what his true intentions are going forward after his failed bid to unseat Mayor Hayes. And I commend the voters of District 10 for re-electing our popular mayor to his municipal committee seat.
