BRIDGEWATER, NJ - A Hillsborough man was arrested after he fled from officers at the Bridgewater Commons Mall when he was a suspect in a theft in another jurisdiction, according to a report from Bridgewater Township Police.

Matthew D. Suber, 28, was arrested for obstruction fleeing on foot.

According to the report, Suber was a suspect in a theft and officers found him at the mall. Officers told him to stop so they could speak to him, but he ignored police and fled on foot.

Suber, the report said, fled into a drainage ditch and was apprehended by police.

Suber was released pending a court date.

Police made other arrests for shoplifting and more throughout the beginning of January.

  • Jonathan D. Rivero, of Harmony, was arrested Jan. 6 at 4:39 p.m. for shoplifting at Costco after allegedly being found with $125.97 worth of baby formula. While being processed for the arrest, Rivero was found to be in possession of drug paraphernalia. He was also charged with obstruction of justice and taken to Somerset County Jail pending a court appearance.
  • Milan C. Patel, 39, of Branchburg, was arrested for driving while intoxicated Jan. 11 at 11:54 p.m. after police saw him commit a motor vehicle violation on Route 202/206 South. He was issued summonses for DWI, careless driving and failure to maintain a lane. He was processed and released pending a court appearance.
  • Mina M. Boules, 30, of PIscataway, was arrested Jan. 11 at 5:46 p.m. for shoplifting at Macy's, in the Bridgewater Commons Mall, after being found with clothing items valued at $138.42. She was processed and released pending a court appearance.
  • Joseph G. Ridges, 23, of New York, was arrested Jan. 8 at 1:28 p.m. following a motor vehicle stop on Commons Way. He was a front seat passenger in the car, and a probable cause search led to the discovery of marijuana and drug paraphernallia. He was charged with possession of marijuana under 50 grams and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was processed and released pending a court appearance.
  • Zachary T. Adams, 28, of Martinsville, was arrested Jan. 3 at 6:20 p.m. following a motor vehicle stop on Route 202/206 South. A probable cause search led to the discovery of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. He was charged with possession of marijuana under 50 grams and possession of drug paraphernalia, as well as being issued summonses for illlegal use of a cell phone, drivers license suspended and possession of CDS in a motor vehicle. He was processed and released pending a court date.
  • Yasmine Miranda, 22, of Bound Brook, was arrested for disorderly conduct at the Hilton Garden Inn, on Promenade Boulevard, Jan. 8 at 2:19 a.m. According to the report, Miranda pulled the fire alarm in an attempt to get assistance at the front desk. While police attempted to arrest her, she resisted arrest and was also found to be in possession of drug paraphernalia. She was processed and released pending a court date.
