Hillsborough Woman Arrested for Driving While Intoxicated on Route 22, Bridgewater Police Say

BRIDGEWATER, NJ - A Hillsborough woman was arrested for driving while intoxicated after being stopped for a motor vehicle violation on Route 22 East Sept. 22, according to a release from Bridgewater Township Police.

Margot Cardinale, 64, was issued summonses for driving while intoxicated, failure to maintain traffic lane, speeding, careless driving and refusal to submit to a breath test.

She was processed and released pending a court appearance.

Police also made arrests for shoplifting at the end of September.

  • Logan Knight, 25, of Raritan, was arrested for shoplifting Sept. 24 after allegedly being found with $59 worth of merchandise from Target at the Promenade Shopping Center. He was processed and released pending a court appearance.
  • A Harry Road resident reported Oct. 1 that his parked vehicle was damaged in the overnight hours of Sept. 30. According to the report someone smashed the rear driver side window of the victim's vehicle.

BRIDGEWATER, NJ - A Neshanic Station man was arrested for driving while intoxicated after a motor vehicle crash on Route 22 East Nov. 29.

Bryan Bakunas, 41, was issued summonses for driving while intoxicated, refusal to submit to chemical testing of his breath, careless driving, leaving the scene of an accident and failure to report an accident.

Freight Train Derailment in Union; Raritan Train Station Service Suspended

UNION, NJ - A freight train derailed in Union at about 2:15 p.m. this afternoon, and Raritan Borough Police say train service is suspended at the Raritan Train Station until further notice because of it.
