BRIDGEWATER, NJ - A Somerset woman was arrested for shoplifting Dec. 12 after being found with $394 worth of merchandise from Lord & Taylor, in the Bridgewater Commons Mall, according to a report from Bridgewater Township Police.

Symone Hogan-O'Connor, 28, was arrested for shoplifting and possession of marijuana.

Hogan-O'Connor was processed and released pending a court appearance.

Police investigated other reported thefts through December.

  • An employee of Target reported Dec. 11 that there had been a theft of merchandise. According to the report, a white male wearing a black/purple coat removed two vacuums, valued at $598, from a display area in the store. The man, the report said, then left the store without paying for them.
  • A resident of Henry Street, reported at Dec. 23 at about 9:10 p.m., that there had been a burglary to the residence. According to the report, someone forcibly entered the home.
  • Edmund Bowen, 61, of Branchburg, was arrested Dec. 27 for driving while intoxicated after being stopped for a motor vehicle violation on North Bridge Street. Bowen was also issued summonses for failure to maintain traffic lane, reckless driving, failure to yield to an emergency vehicle and refusal to submit to the chemical testing of breath. He was also charged with a criminal summons for obstruction of justice. Bowen was processed and released pending a court appearance.
