Bicycle and Pedestrian Safety Meetings

Raritan Borough is holding several neighborhood meetings on bicycle and pedestrian safety in town. The meetings are held in cooperation with RideWise, and the borough will assess the walkabilty and bikeability of the town, and prepare a plan to enhance safety where needed.

All meetings will be held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

The agendas will be a presentation of bike and pedestrian safety components, then a walking tour of the neighborhood and a discussion of opportunities and barriers for safety.

The project is being funded by a grant from the Regional Center Partnership, and by the Borough of Raritan.

The first meeting is for the Vones Lane neighborhood, June 3 at Mayor Charles McMullin's house at 19 Normandie Lane. The second will be for the First Avenue North neighborhood June 10 at Rick Miller's house at 590 Perlee Avenue.

The third meeting will be for the East Somerset Street area June 17 at the Raritan Public Library. The final meeting will be for the West Somerset Street area June 24 at the Basilone Park Pavilion.
