NEW JERSEY — New Jersey's COVID-19 Rate of Transmission stands at 1.02 on Monday, a dramatic drop since it was 1.92 on January 1.  Anything over 1.0 means COVID-19 is still spreading, but the lower the number means any infected person is spreading the virus to fewer people.

SOMERVILLE, NJ - A 37-year-old Somerville woman who gave birth to a baby boy three weeks ago has died of COVID-19 complications without ever having the chance to hold her newborn, according to family and friends.
