BOUND BROOK, NJ - Firefighters and emergency personnel are still working on the giant blaze that destroyed an apartment complex in Bound Brook Sunday night, and Chimney Rock Inn, in Bridgewater, is looking to provide food for those in need.
The restaurant is giving free pizza to all first responders who were on scene during the fire as a way to say thank you for their service.
The fire began before 8 p.m. Sunday in an apartment complex that was nearing the end of construction on Main Street in Bound Brook. Nearby residents and businesses were evacuated because of the disastrous fire that was difficult to contain and spread to a few nearby buildings.
On Monday morning, schools in Bound Brook were on a two-hour delay.
Raritan Valley Line rail service is still suspended between Bridgewater and Dunellen until 4 p.m. Monday following the fire. Parking on the westbound side of the station is extremely limited to allow for the ongoing investigation, according to NJ Transit.
