BRIDGEWATER, NJ - In his regular Friday message to the district, superintendent Russell Lazovick reminded community members about the resources available to support families during these difficult times.
Lazovick said in his message that there are resources on the District Health and Wellness page of the website at brrsd.org, with resources to help families with any mental health and other concerns. Those needing them should click on COVID-19 for more information.
"We are in this together, so continue to contact your teachers and building administrators if you need assistance," he said in his letter.
In his letter, Lazovick reminded residents that the public hearing on the district's 2020-2021 budget will be held April 28, and information can also be found on the district website, as well as a form for submitting questions since the meeting will be held virtually.
Regarding reminders for the district, Lazovick said that, as per the governor's directive, the district will continue with distance learning through at least May 18, and the academic calendar will remain as planned with give back days on May 1, May 27 and June 5.
"And every effort will be made to hold our special events in the safest and most inclusive way possible," he said. "Unfortunately, due to contract and safety issues, we may have to cancel some completely. As this occurs, you will receive direct communication from your school or organization."
The district reminded residents that they continue to deliver food to qualified families, and all facilities will remain closed to the public, including all outdoor equipment.
As always, Lazovick said, attendance for distance learning must be submitted each day by 10 a.m. And anyone needing tech support can email DLDech@brrsd.k12.nj.us.
"Please continue to make healthy decisions, and reach out if you need anything," Lazovick concluded.
