SOMERSET COUNTY - With races in both Bridgewater and Raritan municipal governments, and three candidates running for three seats on the board of education, there are also a few other county and state-wide elections coming up Nov. 5.

New Jersey voters will be voting for state assembly members to represent both towns in the 23rd district. Republican incumbents Erik Peterson and John DiMaio are running against Democrats Marisa Trofimov and Denise King.

At the county level, Somerset County Board of Chosen Freeholder Republican incumbent Patricia Walsh is running against challenger Melonie Marano.

For sheriff, Republican William “Bill” Parenti is running against Democrat Darrin Russo.

Current Sheriff Frank Provenzano is retiring from his role at the end of this year.
