BRIDGEWATER, NJ - The Somerset Regional Animal Shelter saw a record-breaking 1,023 adoptions in 2019, thanks to public and township support, according to a release from the shelter.

“Our goal has always been to have quality over quantity of adoptions, and we are thrilled that we were able to place so many deserving animals into loving homes last year,” shelter manager Brian Bradshaw said. “We couldn’t do it without community support.”

The shelter has also been thriving in other ways, the release said, including assisting other local and overburdened shelters, transferring animals in and providing community support programs like pet ownership guidance and referrals when necessary.
