BRIDGEWATER, NJ - Bridgewater Township and the Bridgewater Senior Citizens Center have partnered to encourage support of the county's Project First Class school supplies collection.
The project is run by the Somerset County Commission on the Status of Women, and benefits children of families served by the Food Bank Network of Somerset County and Feeding Hands.
All types of new schools supplies are being collected, including backpacks, notebooks, three-ring binders, paper, highlighters, markers, pens, pencils, crayons, scissors and index cards.
Donations will be collected at the Bridgewater Senior Center, on Somerville Road, through Aug. 17. The center is open weekdays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., and the collection box will be available in the front lobby.
Donations can also be dropped off at the Bridgewater Department of Human Services, on the second floor of the municipal building on Commons Way. Staff will be available to receive donations Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
