BRIDGEWATER, NJ - Hillside Intermediate School celebrated the 12th anniversary of the Celebrity Chef Challenge, "A Taste of Hillside," Oct. 23.
The event was a chance for students, staff, parents and community members to come together with their favorite recipes to share with the school community. Guests had the chance to sample a wide range of offerings and tip the treats they enjoyed the most.
All money raised from the event goes toward providing secondary and university scholarships for the Roots & Shoots partners in Kenya and Tanzania.
The Roots & Shoots club, Students Raising Students which sponsors the challenge, is a program that is committed to learning about the lives of children around the world and promoting the educational rights and aspirations of all children. In addition, the mission is to raise awareness about the impact of poverty on the lives of children in East Africa and increase their educational opportunities.
