BRIDGEWATER, NJ - The Bridgewater Township Council recently ratified a consent agenda for the renewal of liquor licenses for 2019-2020 for over a dozen different establishments in the municipality, ranging from liquor stores to hotels to social clubs.
The council passed the 10 measures unanimously at its June 17 meeting.
The first renewed the plenary retail distribution liquor licenses for Squires Corner Liquors, Inc., also known as Spirits of the Valley, along with Wegmans Food Markets, Inc., Krisha Beverage (Bridgewater Wine and Spirits) and Ramaram, Inc. (Buy Best Wine and Liquors).
The council also renewed township club liquor licenses for the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Somerville Lodge of Elks, Raritan Valley Country Club and the Gerald Abrego Post of the American Legion. It also renewed the township’s plenary retail consumption liquor licenses.
The council further renewed the plenary retail consumption liquor license hotel/motel exception for the Hyatt Summerfield Suites Hotel, the Hilton Gardens Inn and FSC Bridgewater Hotel LLC (Hampton Inn and Suites). It also renewed the plenary retail consumption liquor license for Café Emilia, Inc., with an unspecified condition, plus the Mish-J.O. Investment Corp. T/A Green Knoll Grille.
The council also re-granted the plenary retail consumption liquor license hotel/motel exception for Marriott Hotel Services, Inc. with conditions, and renewed the inactive plenary retail consumption liquor license for Ruby Tuesday, Inc. that had been active at 754 Route 202 Towne Centre in Bridgewater. It also renewed the inactive plenary retail consumption liquor license for McCormick and Schmick’s Restaurant Corp., which had formerly been active at the Bridgewater Commons Mall.
The council also re-upped the plenary retail consumption liquor license for the Chimney Rock LQR, LLC, pocket license, with two term special rulings according to state regulations.
Last October, the council had attempted to table a resolution that would have extended Sunday hours of operation for plenary retail distribution licenses including Wegman Markets, Spirits of the Valley, Krisha Beverage and Buy Best Wine and Liquors for the Sundays of Nov. 18, Dec. 23 and Dec. 30, 2018. The measure deadlocked, 2-2, and a motion to introduce the resolution also failed with a 2-2 vote.
