RARITAN, NJ - The Raritan Borough Council unanimously introduced its 2019 budget in late March with a flat tax rate over 2018.
The 2019 budget appropriations and revenues are set at $11,317,396.66, basically a flat budget from 2018.
According to borough administrator Dan Jaxel, the 2019 municipal portion of the tax rate is also flat from 2018.
In addition, Jaxel said, the charges for the 2019 Sewerage Authority are increased this year because of large rainfalls in 2018. The costs rose from $1,153,900 in 2018 to $1,362,100 this year.
Many municipalities are reporting increases there because of rainfall last year.
Public hearing for the budget is set for 7 p.m. April 23.
