BRIDGEWATER, NJ - Three officers from the Bridgewater Township Police Department were promoted in a recent ceremony at the municipal complex.

Kevin Tennant, a 20-year veteran of the department, was promoted to the rank of lieutenant. He will be one of the afternoon Watch Commanders.

Tennant has spent his career in the Operations Division at the police department, and has been an integral member of the Somerset County Emergency Response Team as a SWAT operator for 15 years.

Brian Blath, a 19-year veteran of the department, was promoted to the rank of sergeant. He spent the early part of his career in Support Services, addressing the department's early IT infrastructure and budgeting.

Blath will be assigned as a patrol supervisor for one of the department's six patrol squads.

Todd Mele, also a 19-year veteran of the department, was promoted to the rank of sergeant. He spent a short amount of time in administration as one of the department's Youth Service Officers before being re-assigned to Operations.

Mele will also be assigned as a patrol supervisor for one of the six patrol squads.
