BRIDGEWATER, NJ - A juvenile male was arrested by Warren police officers early Friday morning in connection with a stolen vehicle and several car burglaries in Bridgewater, according to a report from Bridgewater Township Police.

According to police, at about 5 a.m. Aug. 1, officers were called to homes on Primrose Lane and Fall Mountain Court for reports of a stolen motor vehicle, several motor vehicle burglaries and a burglary to an attached garage. By looking at home security cameras, police said, they saw that two or three males were walking in the area and targeting unlocked vehicles to burglarize and steal.

Police said an unlocked 2016 Jeep with its key fob in the vehicle was stolen from a home on Primrose Lane, and a stolen Lexus from Rumson was found at the scene.

In addition, police said, three men entered an open garage on Fall Mountain Court and burglarized two unlocked vehicles that were inside.

At 3:50 a.m. Friday, police were called to Mayflower Court because of a report of three males walking in the area. When they came to the street, police said, a black Audi and a brown Porsche entered the road at a high speed.

The vehicles were pursued by Warren police, and the Porsche got into a single motor vehicle crash in Watchung, after which the driver fled on foot. After a short foot chase, Warren police took him into custody.

Police said the Porsche was stolen from a home on Mayflower Court, and it was also unlocked with its key fob inside when it was stolen.

Police said this is still an active investigation, and the Audi and other suspects were not located.

The suspects and others, police said, are targeting open and unlocked vehicles, so residents are advised to take their key fobs and valuables out of vehicles and lock them to assist in deterring these kinds of thefts.
