RARITAN, NJ - Raritan Borough Police Chief Raymond Nolte has announced changes to patrol and administrative operations in efforts to limit the spread of coronavirus.
All changes will be effective immediately.
First, Raritan Police Headquarters will be closed to the public until further notice, and police reports that do not require a police response will be taken over the telephone. Anyone who needs a police report, other than accident reports, should call 908-725-6700, ext. 11, or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
Those who call are asked to leave their name, phone number, email address and police report case number.
"We apologize in advance, the processing of your request may take a little longer than usual," Nolte said.
Accident reports can be obtained from crashdocs.org.
Officers will also be practicing "social distancing."
"We are committed to providing our residents with the best service possible," Nolte said. "We will resume normal operations once this pandemic is behind us."
