BRIDGEWATER, NJ -- The Bridgewater-Raritan boys basketball team built a 13-point lead after one quarter and went on to a 71-64 victory over Phillipsburg Thursday night.

Junior forward Alec Whelan scored 22 points for the Panthers (4-6), who led, 22-9, after one quarter. Joey Callari finished with 19 points for BRHS, which built its lead to 35-19 by halftime. Callari hit four 3-pointers.

Alvin Cheng connected for 10 points, including eight at the foul line, where the Panthers scored 21 of their points.
