HILLSBOROUGH, NJ -- Trailing by 13 at halftime, Bridgewater-Raritan surged back to defeat Hillsborough, 60-58, in boys basketball Thursday night.

Alec Whelan scored 20 points for Bridgewater-Raritan (3-11), which trailed, 36-23, at halftime. Hillsborough got out to a quick start with a 22-13 first quarter.

Alvin Cheng and Rishi Mudduluru each connected for 11 points for the Panthers, who were playing their third game in four days. The Panthers outscored the Raiders, 21-10, in the third quarter to come within striking distance heading into the fourth quarter.

Kyle Chedid scored 22 points for Hillsborough (5-8).
